Daniel Johnson was an unstoppable force on the soccer pitch and this picture illustrates his power. I had the privelage of covering the high school playoffs and seeing him play multiple times for American Heritage.
This picture was taken during the 2004 FHSAA Class 2A Boys Soccer state semi-finals as American Heritage played Miami-Palmer Trinity on February 28, 2004 at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. American Heritage won the game 2-0 but lost Gabriel Taboada for the finals, for excessive celebration, after he scored and lifted his jersey to reveal a message written in black marker on his t-shirt for his brother. American Heritage then loss in the finals to Tampa-Berkeley Prep 0-2.
